One of the great things about a class blog is watching where your visitors come from. I have written about the power of flag counters etc here.
One of the great online resources I was introduced to a few years ago by some of our staff who had visited BETT is Oddizzi.

This subscription service provides children with a great online Geography resource, written in Primary-friendly language, which allows them to:
- view an interactive map of the world
- watch Geography-related videos
- play games (flags, animals, continents)
So far, so good and probably worth the money alone.
However, its best feature, in my opinion is the Classpals features, which links other subscribing schools via an internal email system.
Thus, schools / children can email each other, learning about each other's countries. We have partner school in USA, Nepal, Indonesia and the Orkney Isles to name but a few!
What a great way to make connections and encourage children to see each other as global citizens.
Here are a few examples of experiences our children have had via Oddizzi:
Pictures sent by 'snail mail' from Taiwan
Lots of classpal emails from around the World
We have also developed epals between individual children and would love to try Skyping this year!
