Blogging CPD offers 3 different courses, which cater to those considering a class/school blog to more advanced users who want to get the most from a blog.
Course 1: Why Blog? An introduction to class and school blogging
(30 minutes - 1 hour)
Audience: Staff meeting, Cluster meeting, SLT meeting
Course 2: Why Blog? - Creating a blogging class (1 day)
Audience: ICT literate teachers
Module 1: Getting going - Creating a class website
Module 2: Developing a class website

- Examines the benefits of blogging
- Looks at examples of content created for a class blog
- Explains the next steps to creating a class / school blog
Course 2: Why Blog? - Creating a blogging class (1 day)
Audience: ICT literate teachers
Module 1: Getting going - Creating a class website
- Introduces the 'audience' concept as a motivator to children
- What is blogging?
- Examines the benefits of blogging
- Creation of a fully-published class website
- How to add content from an iPad
How to edit comments - ESafety
Module 2: Developing a class website
- Adding child created content (videos, audio, whiteboard podcasts)
- Adding games / live flag counters to your site
- Tagging pupils’ work to create a digital portfolio
- Developing pupils' own websites
- Adding Youtube videos
- 100 Word Challenge (a world-wide Primary / Secondary writing movement)/Quadblogging
Course 3: Creating a blogging school
Audience: Teachers, SLT, TAs, Governors, PTA of one school
(1 hour meeting with administrator to discuss school's requirements, setting up of up to 10 blogs (e.g. for classes, the headteacher, School Council, governors etc.), 2 hours with staff following Module 1 of Course 2)
